Often we are are so caught up in the day to day that we fail to keep an open mind. Having an open mind means that you are receptive to other points of view or other ways of thinking.
Are you open minded?
It’s easy to forget that we only see the world through our own eyes. In many situations it’s beneficial to breakout of your own framing and consider other perspectives.
You can try to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. How might things seem to someone who doesn’t have the knowledge you do? Or, is it possible that someone else has knowledge that you don’t? Being aware that there is usually additional information that you can’t see will help you keep an open mind.
Often people are tempted to make judgments and form opinions with only partial information. This leads to bad outcomes. If you fall into this trap, you could find yourself offending or hurting others without realizing it.
Always pause for a moment to consider what your perspective is and how you might not see the full picture. Doing this will help you keep an open mind.
Having an open mind or being open minded allows you to learn more than you would otherwise. It also helps you make the right decisions and better handle situations in life.
Often we get get busy and things happen quickly so you have to be mindful about this.
