Are there times when you wish you would have made better decisions?
We all have decisions to make. Some big, some small, and some that change the course of our lives.
So with all these decisions to make, how can you be sure you are making good ones? There’s no doubt that you can and probably have made some poor choices along the way. No worries, we all do.
Here’s how you can make better decisions… it has to do with framing. Most of us fail to make good decisions because we fall into the trap of narrow framing.
Here’s an example: have you ever made a choice wether or not to do something? Binary options are a classic example of narrow framing. There is almost always another way to ask the question that will reveal better options.
So next time you are faced with an important decision, make sure you consider all the options. One easy way to do this is to imagine that your current options don’t exist. What are your options then? This will help you broaden your mental framework around the decisions you have to make.
I hope this post reminds you that there are always more options then you may realize. Borden your mental framework and make better decisions!
