Positive Thinking

-What do you think?

The power of your thoughts shapes your world. I mentioned this in The Mirror. But here is a little more on positive thinking.

Because your thoughts have such an impact on your reality, it’s important that they be positive. That’s easy to say but we all have negativity in our life in one shape or another. It’s part of life and you can’t avoid it.

You also can’t monitor everything you think and stop yourself from feeling the full spectrum, negativity included, so it’s important to know how to handle it.

Here are some tips that have helped me and I hope they can help you.

1. Acknowledge your emotions.

Your emotions are like a feedback loop and can tell you what kind of thoughts you are allowing to persist. Acknowledge them.

2. Change course when needed.

Whenever your feelings are negative, use your conscious mind to change course. Focus on a positive aspect or just change your thoughts to something else.

All negative emotions serve a purpose. Acknowledge them and move on.

3. Don’t dwell on something that bothers you.

Whenever someone pisses you off or you get disappointed or let down, the worst thing you can do is to dwell in those thoughts and emotions.

It’s easy to dwell if your not careful and this is when those thoughts and emotions begin to permeate to other areas of your life. This is not good. Change your focus and move on.

Recap:

These things are much harder to do than say, but as all things they become easier with practice.

Try some of these tips next time something happens that pulls you out of sync with the awesomeness of your positivity!

Have you ever tried anything like this? How has it worked for you?
