Mindset: The New Phychology of Success by Carol Dweck

Book Cover: Mindset

This is one of the first books I read on Mindset. This book really began my personal development journey and I highly recommend it.

The author describes the difference between a growth and a fixed mindset. Before reading this, I had no idea how often I was using a fixed mindset. This book has really helped me be more mindful of my mindset and keep a non-fixed point of view.

The book motivated me and helped open my mind to a new way of seeing things. It’s also a very easy read. If your not a big reader, try the audio book.

One of the key aspects of the book is how to learn from adversity. In hindsight, we can learn a lot from our struggles. One idea presented is to use this knowledge when faced with challenge and to think about what you can learn.

I just finished reading this book, and it has been amazing! The depth is really impressive and conveys many relevant leanings, so if you struggle with challenges in your life, this book will be a great read for you!

Presence by Amy Cuddy

Book Cover: Presence

I highly recommend Presence by Amy Cuddy. This book teaches you the importance of your body posture and how your posture impacts your mood and outlook.

There is one quote I love from this book “I don’t sing because I’m happy, I’m happy because I sing”. This quote illustrates how many confuse the cause and effect of their body language.

Holding a power pose for a minute or two can actually boost your confidence in a major way. Many more gems in this book!
