Reward yourself the right way
Having goals and making progress is one of the keys to well being. A lot of us have them and continuously push forward. Be careful, this can be exhausting. You need to pause and reward yourself along the way. It’s important that you build in rewards for yourself to keep you motivation up and continue to enjoy your life. If your goal is to save money, and you cut every single expense you can, you will save money, but you will also likely be very unhappy.
You need to reward yourself! Don’t expect someone else to do it for you. Not only do you need to reward yourself, you need to know how to reward yourself. Don’t reward yourself in a way that will knock you off track of your goals. Only you know what is right for you, just be reasonable and do it when you start to feel burned out from the grind.
Build it into your goals
One of the best ways I’ve learned to do this is to build it into your goals. For example, if your goal is to save a thousand dollars, set a reward at $600 to spend $100 on yourself for making it past the half way mark. Again, do what makes since for you. For this example, the hundred dollar reward will be a nice gift to yourself and you’ll still be halfway to reaching your goal.
You can also build in rewards for different types of goals, like taking a break from your diet. This one is Taboo for a lot of folks, but i believe it is very important to reward yourself for your efforts! Just do it in a reasonable way. Your break from your diet shouldn’t include half a chocolate cake.
Set your rewards to whatever works for you without knocking you off track of your goals. Having built-in rewards on your path to your goals can also be very motivating to keep you going.
Stay the course
It might take you a bit longer to reach your goals this way, but taking pause on your grind to reward yourself will help you ensure you get there. Physiologically, we are wired to seek reward and return for our efforts. Without recognition or reward, we often just burn out and loose motivation. Of course, completing the goal is the natural reward, but this strategy works best for your reach goals, or goals that will take a considerable amount of time to achieve. Like saving for a down payment on a house.
Reward yourself
Not taking the time to rewarding yourself can cause burnout, lack of motivation and ultimately cause you to give up. Never Give Up! Keep your goals in the front of your mind and make the progress you need to get there.

Personal Development is all about becoming your best self. At the end of the day, you are doing this for you, and you should not feel guilty for that. Reward Yourself for Your Hard Work Because You Deserve It!
